Kathleen Cassen Mickelson is a Minnesota-based writer who works in multiple genres and loves to take photos. She is currently a co-editor of the digital poetry journal, Gyroscope Review. Kathleen also spent five years on the editorial staff of the online poetry journal, Every Day Poets (now defunct, Every Day Poets ran from 2008-2013), and was as an editor and reviewer at Fine Linen Literary Journal during its one-year run as a print publication. She earned an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction from Hamline University, has taught creative writing workshops to both adults and teens, and has been published in a variety of places. (Click here for a list of publications.)

Kathleen believes every writer should do a stint as a submissions reader or editor somewhere to see how it works from the other side of the equation.

Examining ways to live a creative life is the reason for this blog’s existence.  It is constantly evolving, so stop by often. Leave a comment. If you’re stumped about what to say, leave a recipe.
